We’re going green! With Green Tourism

GHEC News

We’re proud to announce we’re working towards certification with Green Tourism! We’re joining over 2000 business in our commitment to sustainability.

Why Green Tourism?

We’ve always been sensitive to our impact on the environment, and we’ve listened to many of our clients who have expressed an awareness of sustainability related issues. In particular, demand has grown for more informative labeling that allows our clients to make purchasing decisions based on environmental and ethical grounds.

Green Tourism is the market leading sustainable certification programme for the tourism sector in the UK and Internationally. An independent privately owned not-for-profit organisation, Green Tourism aims to  protect our planet while improving local businesses – two worthy goals we wholeheartedly support.

Once we’re certified, you’ll see The Green Tourism grading logo on our page – watch this space for more updates as we progress towards certification!

Our new water supplier

Pursuing Green Tourism certification aligns with our decision to switch to OneDifference bottled water.

From the One website:

The One Foundation is a UK Registered Charity (No. 1118810). It was incorporated back in 2006 a year after the One brand was launched, and receives funds generated by sales of One products, along with ad hoc donations from individuals and corporates who like our work.

The One Foundation, is the UK based charitable division of Global Ethics Limited. They work in partnership with selected NGOs in Africa who are specialists in their respective areas; addressing the most pressing humanitarian needs such as clean drinking water, nutrition, HIV/AIDS testing and hygiene & sanitation.

We are proud supporters of the One Foundation and their work.

In the coming weeks, you’ll see a lot of ‘green’ posts across our social media, letting you know about new measures we’ll be implementing as we move towards certification with Green Tourism.
