Green Team Meeting
As part of our commitment to sustainability, and to pursue environmental certification with Green Tourism, our recently established Green Team met last week for the first of many Green Meetings.
During the meeting, the Green Action Plan was discussed. This Plan collects all the measures and targets GH Event Catering has set up for the upcoming months in order to improve the sustainability and efficiency of the company. The measures includes a 10% reduction of waste destined for the landfill by January 2016, and the substitution of hand dryers at Eskmills Venue for more highly efficient and ecological models.
The Green Team will meet every two months to discuss our progress in the implementation of the Green Action Plan, and propose new measures to improve environmental responsibility across the brand. In addition, every member can raise concerns relating to sustainability and efficiency in their working department and suggest solutions.
The creation of a Green Team will maximise the impact of key initiatives across the business. Furthermore, developing the Green Team will provide valuable support for the implementation of resource efficiency improvements. Our Green Team is composed of staff members from different departments, including Kitchen, front of house and management in order, ensuring Green Team representation across the brand.
